Dawning Nemesis (“we”, “us”, or “the guild”) is a World of Warcraft: Forever community. Our officers operate this website to share guild information and help people find a place in the guild. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
This policy describes the new Dawning Nemesis website and its Cloudflare preview. You can browse without creating an account or signing in with Battle.net.
Website hosting and technical information
The website is built with Astro and hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare delivers the pages and runs our application and guild administration services.
When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include your IP address, requested address, browser information, request time, and network or security information. Operational logs and traffic statistics help us identify errors, monitor reliability, and prevent abuse. Details are available in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Applications and messages
You can apply to our WoW Forever community by signing in with Discord. We store your Discord user ID and username, optional planned character name and BattleTag, intended class, preferred role, guild interests, availability, application answers, and acknowledgment of the application terms. Forever applications do not look up a character profile or collect game performance scores.
Applications, review statuses, messages, and private officer notes are stored in Cloudflare D1. Guild members with an approved Administrators, Officers, or Raid Leader Discord role can review all applications. Applicants can view their own status and messages; private officer notes are not shown to applicants. Discord channel notifications contain the character name, guild application category, submission time, and a private review link. Free-text application answers, contact details, applicant messages, and officer notes are not included.
Applicant sign-in requests your Discord identity. Officer sign-in also requests access to your membership in our Discord server so we can check approved roles. Officer access tokens are encrypted before storage and expire from our authorization system within one hour; we do not store refresh tokens. We do not receive your Discord password.
If you contact an officer by email or Discord, we use the information you share to respond or help with guild matters. Discord handles its service under Discord’s privacy policy. Applications previously submitted through wowaudit remain subject to wowaudit’s privacy policy; they have not been imported into this system.
Cookies, analytics, and local files
We do not run advertising trackers or third-party visitor analytics scripts on this website. Application sign-in uses secure, HttpOnly cookies: a login session lasts up to 24 hours, and a temporary OAuth sign-in cookie lasts up to 10 minutes. Officer authorization requires reauthentication after at most one hour. These cookies support sign-in and application security, not advertising.
Cloudflare may use cookies when needed for security features. Other services may set their own cookies when you visit them. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Fonts and site artwork are served with the website rather than loaded from an external font service; your browser may cache these files to speed up later visits.
Who receives information
We use Cloudflare to host and protect the website, Cloudflare D1 to store applications, and Discord for sign-in, role checks, notifications, and guild communication. Approved guild reviewers can access application information for those purposes. Private database backups are copied to the site administrator’s local computer and OneDrive folder. Backups exclude login sessions, OAuth state, officer tokens, and environment secrets.
Links to external services take you to websites with their own privacy practices. We do not control their accounts, cookies, or retention settings. These providers may process information in countries other than your own; their privacy notices explain their arrangements.
Why we use information
We use information to run and secure the site, review applications, and respond to messages. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in those activities, subject to your rights and interests. If a particular use requires your consent, we will ask for it, and you can withdraw it by contacting us.
How long information is kept
- Technical logs: Cloudflare retains operational logs under the retention limits of the hosting service. Those logs are separate from the temporary game-data cache.
- Earlier guild records: existing applications and private administration records may include character, realm, specialization, and public game information previously retrieved from Blizzard or Raider.IO. Those records are retained for guild administration and recovery; they are not displayed on the public Forever pages.
- Applications: we retain records while reviewing applications and for follow-up guild matters. Records and backup copies currently require manual deletion; there is no automatic expiry. Contact us to request deletion, including from retained backups. We keep private backups for recovery and review their retention when handling deletion requests.
- Correspondence: emails and messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with the conversation or related guild matters. Email and Discord providers may retain their own records.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information the guild holds about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of your data, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.
Email privacy@dnguild.com with your request and enough information for us to identify the relevant record. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify that the information belongs to you. Requests concerning records controlled by wowaudit, Discord, Blizzard, Raider.IO, or Cloudflare may also need to be made directly to that provider.
Children
Dawning Nemesis is an adults-only guild and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete the information under our control.
Security and policy updates
The site uses HTTPS. Access to application information and guild correspondence is limited to the people who need it for guild responsibilities. No website or service can guarantee complete security.
We will update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced in our Discord.
