Dawning Nemesis (“we”, “us”, “the guild”) runs this website at dnguild.com as a hobby site for a World of Warcraft guild. We are not a business, we do not sell anything, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone. This page explains what little we do collect and why.

Who we are

Dawning Nemesis is a World of Warcraft guild on the Stormrage realm (Alliance). The site is operated by the guild’s officers. For any question about this policy or your data, email privacy@dnguild.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Raid applications. Applications are handled off-site by wowaudit. When you apply you give wowaudit your character details, your Battle.net information and your answers to the application questions. That data is held by wowaudit and shared with our raid leads and officers. See the wowaudit privacy policy for how they handle it.
• Contact forms and comments. If a page on this site offers a form, we receive whatever you type into it, plus your email address so we can reply. Comment submissions may also record your IP address and browser user agent to help with spam filtering.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Our host records standard web-server information — IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request — for security and troubleshooting.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies and collects a truncated IP address and general usage data. We look at totals, not individuals.
• Cookies. WordPress sets cookies if you log in or leave a comment. Embedded services set their own. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Services we rely on

Some parts of the site hand you off to third parties, each with their own privacy policy and their own cookies:

• wowaudit — raid applications and roster tools
• Discord — guild chat and voice
• Warcraft Logs — public raid performance logs
• Blizzard Entertainment / Battle.net — guild roster and character data
• Google Analytics — site statistics
• Facebook and X — linked social profiles

We do not control what those services collect. Following a link or signing in with an account means their policy applies to that interaction.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our lawful bases are your consent (analytics cookies, applying to the guild) and legitimate interests (keeping the site secure, running a raid roster, replying to messages you send us).

How long we keep it

• Applications: kept while your application is being considered and for up to twelve months afterwards, so returning applicants are not starting from nothing.
• Emails and form messages: kept as long as needed to deal with the conversation.
• Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely so follow-up replies still make sense.
• Analytics: retained on Google’s standard schedule.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA you also have rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for asking — and we confirm we do not sell or share personal information.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@dnguild.com from the address you contacted us with. We will respond within 30 days. Requests about application data may need to be passed on to wowaudit.

Children

Dawning Nemesis is an adults-only guild and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and kept updated. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the amount of data we hold small on purpose — the best protection is not having it in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced in our Discord.
